WVMS Announces Pro Late Model Rules For “Short Track Debut”
Mineral Wells, WV – West Virginia Motor Speedway is thrilled to welcome Pro Late Model competitors from across multiple series and regions for the highly anticipated “Short Track Debut” on Saturday, October 11th, paying $1,000 to win and $100 to start! For this special event, the 604 Crate Late Models will compete under an umbrella-style rules package designed to allow maximum participation from a variety of sanctioning bodies.
Tires:
RUSH Late Model Series: RUSH 25 & RUSH 55
Crate Racin USA (CRUSA) : CUSA 21 & CUSA 55
American All-Star Series: Pro 2 & Pro 4
Engines: RUSH, CUSA, American All-Star Crate Series engine rules mandatory. Body and car rules will follow the standards of the tire brand/series you are competing under for this event. This flexible format ensures that competitors from different areas and associations can come together for the debut on WVMS’s new short track with little to no extra costs.
While this event operates under a broader open rules package, WVMS is happy to share that the speedway will be officially sanctioned for its events in 2026. However, a full announcement with sanctioning body details, rule structure, and other exciting news on next season will be released in the coming weeks.
“We wanted to make our first Pro Late Model short track race as inclusive as possible,” said WVMS officials. “Our debut on October 11th is about bringing together teams this fall from multiple regions, giving them a place to race, and showcasing what’s to come for 2026 and beyond at West Virginia Motor Speedway.”

Times: Gates open at 2pm, Hotlaps at 5pm
Purse: $1,000 to Win, $100 to start, Pro Late Models (604 Crates)

The payout for the event is as follows: 1st – $1,000.00, 2nd – $500.00, 3rd – $400.00, 4th – $300.00, 5th – $250.00, 6th – $225.00, 7th – $200.00, 8th – $190.00, 9th – $180.00, 10th – $170.00, 11th – $160.00, 12th – $150.00, 13th – $140.00, 14th – $130.00, 15th – $120.00, 16th – $110.00, and 17th through 20th – $100.00 each.
