AFTER ONE ROUND, THE ROAD TO RACEFEST HEATS UP AT WEST VIRGINIA MOTOR SPEEDWAY!

Mineral Wells, WV — The 2026 season is gaining serious momentum at West Virginia Motor Speedway, as the historic track, now a 3/8’s mile red clay oval continues its resurgence with major facility upgrades, increased car counts, and a renewed commitment to delivering elite dirt racing in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Known for its fast-paced, improving racing action and passionate hillside fanbase, WVMS is quickly reestablishing itself as a premier destination for racers and fans alike.

The Road to RaceFest officially kicked off during the inaugural Grassroots Race Revival, where Tyler Carpenter powered his way to a $5,000 victory in Round #1. The win not only set the tone for the season, but also ignited a competitive fire that will carry through a loaded spring schedule.

Next up, the spotlight turns to Sunday, May 3rd, for the prestigious Mark Balzano Memorial, featuring a $10,000-to-win showdown for the American Iron-Man Late Model Series. With regional standouts and traveling stars expected, the Mark Balzano Memorial continues its legacy at the Mineral Wells, WV facility on the first Sunday of May.

The intensity ramps up even further on Sunday, May 24th, when the Mountaineer Nationals brings a $15,000 payday to the Hunt the Front Super Late Model Series. Known for its stacked, ultra-competitive fields, the series is expected to showcase top talents including Ashton Winger, Joseph Joiner, Zack Mitchell, Jackson Hise, Jadon Frame, Jake O’Neil, Mario Gresham, Luke Morey, Sam Seawright, and many more. With this caliber of competition, the Mountaineer Nationals will serve as a true battleground heading into the summer stretch and the last high-stakes test session for RaceFest.

All roads ultimately lead to one of the biggest events of the year, RaceFest Summer Championship, featuring the stars of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series on Friday and Saturday, June 12th and 13th for the first time at WVMS in thirteen years. Widely regarded as the premier dirt late model tour in the country, the World of Outlaws bring the sport’s most elite drivers, cutting-edge equipment, and intense, high-stakes racing to every track they visit. Bobby Pierce, Nick Hoffman, Tim McCreadie, Tyler Erb, Drake Troutman and many more will set their sits on The Speedplant for a true summer championship. RaceFest will deliver two nights of non-stop action, unforgettable moments, and the kind of electric atmosphere that only national touring stars can create under the lights at WVMS battling for $42,000 in weekend winnings.
