(Mineral Wells, WV) – Track Championships are officially returning to West Virginia Motor Speedway in 2026, as four divisions will compete for season-long titles for the first time in more than two decades. From opening night through the season finale, a legendary track point battle is back up for grabs.

“We want a West Virginia Motor Speedway Track Title to carry a lot of weight in the region, not just because of the history behind it, but because of how difficult they’ll be to win. The competition at WVMS is tough, the events fields will be large, and the margin for error is slim.” stated GM, Cody Watson.

“A champion won’t be crowned based on one big night, but on consistency, resilience, and performance across an entire season. In 2026, that challenge returns and we can’t wait to crown the four teams who accomplish this prestigious feat” concluded Watson.

** 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 **

Super Late Models will have ten nights of racing to determine their 2026 Track Champion while competing for more than $220,000 in first-place prize money alone during the season.

Saturday, July 11th’s Family Night will award double points for all championship divisions, making it a pivotal night in the standings. Super Late Model teams will also be allowed to drop their lowest points night of the season, excluding Fill The Hill Family Night.

** 𝗨𝗠𝗣 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱𝘀 **

The UMP Modified division will contest nine feature events to decide its 2026 champion while racing for over $75,000 in total purse money across the schedule. Modified teams will receive double points on July 11th and will not have a drop night. Every event will count toward the final standings meaning the stakes will be high right from the very first laps in April.

** 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝘀 **

Sport Mods will have ten point events in 2026, highlighted by two $2,000-to-win features and a $1,500-to-win A-Main during the Hillbilly Hundred weekend, which also includes two $1,000-to-win preliminary features. Teams will earn double points on July 11th and will be allowed one drop night during the season.

Drivers who compete in every scheduled event will receive a 30-point bonus, equal to a feature win for perfect attendance. With so many great events on the season schedule, WVMS has immediately become the premier home for the Sport Mod division in the region.

** 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 **

Pro Late Models will compete for a 2026 Track Championship across seven events, which includes April 10th’s Steel Block Special and the Steel Block portion of the ‘Dirt Track World Championship’ on October 15th.

Pro Late Model teams can also earn a one-time 15-point bonus if they compete in a Super Late Model event during the season in their Pro Late Model entry. The division will also be highlighted by the “UBB Memorial Race” on Saturday, August 8th, paying $10,000 to win. Pro Late Models will also receive double points on Family Night, July 11th.

𝑷𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 & 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔;

Feature points for the four divisions will break down as follows:

1. 30 pts

2. 29 pts

3. 28 pts

4. 27 pts

5. 26 pts

… decreasing by one point per finishing position.

In select events, feature provisionals may be awarded during the season based on the current point standings. At season’s end, each Track Champion will receive a custom championship trophy signifying the legacy of the title, with trophies awarded to the top five drivers in each division.

With four championships on the line and a clear, straightforward points format in place, the 2026 season at West Virginia Motor Speedway will reward consistency, performance, and commitment. When the final checkered flag waves, four drivers will earn the highly coveted right to be called a West Virginia Motor Speedway 2026 Track Champion.
